Does the club have any resources I can use to improve my photography?

The club has an extensive library of videos on photographic subjects which members can borrow for home use. We also have a slide projector, digital projector, photo display racks and other tools to use in our programs. Our best asset, however, is the experience level of many of our members who are willing to share their knowledge with others.

Who runs the club?

An operating committee of seven members is elected annually to plan and supervise the year's activities. This committee meets on the first Thursday of each month and is open to all members.

Does the club have any auxillary groups?

The club has two auxillary groups which meet during most months. Club membership is not required to join either group.

The Snappers are a group comprised mostly of retired individuals who are able to go on day trips within a 100 mile radius Rockford. These trips usually take place during the week, and allow members to photograph many interesting subjects. The Snappers also meet one afternoon each month to plan future trips and review photographs taken on prior excursions.

The Pixel People are a group of individuals interested in digital photography and the use of software packages to digitally process their photographs. They meet in the evening of the third Tuesday of each month.

What are my membership dues used for?

Membership dues pay for a monthly six page newsletter, outside speakers, and other general operating expenses.

What is the cost of membership?

Dues are $30 per year for a member, or $40 for a member and a spouse or significant other. After June 30th, due are one half the annual amount. Guests and visitors are allowed to attend two meetings without being required to join the club.

How often does the club meet?

The Rockford Photo Club generally holds it's meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month starting at 7PM. We meet in Classroom One on the first floor of the Riverfront Museum Park Building (the former Sears Building), 711 North Main Street in Rockford. During the summer months, the time and place may change.
