Message from the Chairman
The Rockford Photo Club is a joining together of men and women, young and old, who share a common love
for photography—not just observing it, but doing it.
The Rockford Photo Club was first established in 1947, as the “Lens & Shutter Club,” but in December of 2005 the decision was made to update the club with a new name and the establishment of a website.
Our primary objectives are to improve our photography and to appreciate photography as and art form. Through displays, contests, field trips, presentations and workshops, hopefully, we accomplish just that.
Whether you shoot with a digicam, the latest whiz-bang DSLR, or one of those old-fashioned film cameras, if you have a love of photography (or even a “like”), pay us a visit. We meet at 7 PM on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at the Rockford Art Museum in the Riverfront Museum Park, in Rockford, Illinois. We are at 711 N. Main Street. If you have any questions about our calendar of events for 2009, or about the club in general, don’t hesitate to give me a call (815-623-2626) or email me via the contact page.- Jim Franklin
